Pre-Departure Orietation 2002 siteClone ResearchHi, everybody! I was thinking about our web-site & our FSA FLEX program. I thought about 9 programs before ours & web-sites that could be created on this theme. And because one of the most popular & easiest hosting in Russia is Narod.ru I decided to look for such projects on this server. I did some research work & to my surprise I found LOTS of similar Internet pages. Many ideas, many approaches, many information. I was really impressed! One of the main thing - I was proud about our project because I didn't meet any project with such quantity of regular & occasional visitors. On one site that is about 2-3 years old is a counter which shows near 30 visitors for ages. Many sites, almost all, have services as we have, I mean forum, chat, guestbook. Also they have plenty of photos on some of pages. I even saw Maria Krauze like one of participants of project. Nevertheless many sites are not complete. I met many beautiful designs & talent made systems of web-resource but people didn't have any content to fill their site with. There are some ideas on several sites that I want to try to include on ours. For example: insert personal photos of visitors or participants on the page with addresses; make a page with historical information about Program, about countries where students live, U.S.A.; organize the table of events that alumni involved in; make help to connections of students & alumni now & later; to publish some materials that we studied on PDO(look at the name of this site - it's about PDO) to help new visitors to understand features & goals of our program, differencies between lifestyle. This is a list of little part of ideas that can be organized here - on pdo2002.narod.ru & that you can see on many different web-sites with the same theme - this very exchange program. To help you to visit that sites I provide the list of them with little commentaries sometimes if needed. All of the sites are in the net of Narod.ru but you can see how they all are different. I didn't include sites like www.state.gov because their content is only about Program in general, not about particular relations between us. You should think about all that you saw & read here & on the sites above(if you visited it). I'll try to make ours the best, the most useful, full of information.
